Today's changing needs and budgets call for quality, economical, basic health insurance coverage. Combining a strong national network with many sought-after benefits, Hart, McConahy & Martz, of Erie, PA., will find a personal affordable health insurance plan for you to protect you from medical costs while fitting into your budget.  Our staff constantly stays at the forefront of the changing requirements of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).  Many variables, such as PRICE, COVERAGE, and PLAN DESIGN, are set to change January 1, 2022.  So this is your time to educate yourself to make the best informed decision.  We are currently setting one on one meetings for “Open Enrollment”, beginning November, 1 2021.

We offer both personal health insurance and comprehensive group health insurance plans to assure that you, your family and your employees are covered. We will provide a customizable individual major medical health insurance plan. Covering a wide variety of health needs and budgets. Our plans offer a range of important health insurance benefits and features plus extra money-saving options, too.  

  • Eligible Services:  Services, such as an office visit or a procedure, that are covered under a health insurance plan. Not all services are eligible even if recommended by a doctor.
  • Deductible:  Specific amount the insured person is required to pay before the insurance company will pay for eligible services rendered.
  • Co-insurance:  A percentage of the cost of eligible services the insured person is required to pay after the deductible, if applicable, has been met.
  • Out of Pocket:  A specific amount the insured person is responsible for consisting of the deductible, co-insurance and/or co-payments.
  • Formulary:  A list of drugs and their dosages that is eligible under the health insurance benefits.  These drugs are normally considered to be the most effective, safest and most cost effective drugs in their specific category.
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA):  An account set up and owned by the employer to pay a certain percentage of the health insurance deductible for the employee.  
  • Health Savings Account (HSA):  A savings account set up to pay eligible health care expenses.  Any unused monies in the account roll over from year to year.  The money is tax-free if used for eligible health care expenses.  Can only be set up if the insured person is enrolled in a qualified high-deductible health insurance plan.
  • High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP):  A health insurance plan that has at least a $1000 deductible in which all eligible services, including office visits and prescription drugs, are subject to that deductible.
  • Explanation of Benefits (EOB):  A detailed statement of charges for services rendered showing how the insurance company will or will not pay and how much the insured person is responsible for paying and why.
